Medical Student Clerkship
St Rita’s Medical Center has long been a core rotation site for 3rd and 4th year Ohio University medical students. In recent years, we also have been designated a rural EM rotation site for The Ohio State University and Wright State University’s MS3/MS4.
Our clerkship director, Dr. Emily Barbee, MD FACEP, received her degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has been a clinical medical educator at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Her current appointment includes serving as Core Faculty of the Emergency Medicine Residency program at St. Rita’s.
Dr. Barbee works tirelessly to provide a structured yet exciting month long rotation to each of our auditioning medical students. Every Monday and Tuesday, each rotator receives valuable classroom instruction on various EM specific topics, as well as hands-on workshop on procedural skills such as ultrasound, airway, slit lamp and orthopaedic splinting.
