(2) Abdominal ultrasound – perform and seek out both adult and pediatric abdominal studies, to evaluate for appendicitis or specific etiologies such as intussusception or pyloric stenosis.
(3) Musculoskeletal and regional anesthesia ultrasound – these are often neglected topics in the emergency department but potentially could be invaluable if you become facile and knowledgeable about specific techniques, which cover both diagnostic and therapeutic components.
(4) Lung and Thoracic Ultrasound – in the age of COVID-19, many more practitioners have been investigating the intricacies and nuances of lung ultrasound. This is definitely an important skill set going forward, and especially valuable in critical care /intensivist settings.
