During the second year ultrasound block, residents are expected to build upon the existing POCUS skill sets acquired during the past year. Aside from scanning shifts, each PGY-2 is expected to take a deeper dive into cardiac ultrasound, (2) participate in quality assurance sessions, (3) coordinate and lead ultrasound-guided PIV training sessions of emergency nurses, medical students and residents.
